IN ACCORDANCE WITH TOWN CODE SECTION 2-2-4 AND ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES SECTION 38-431.02,
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO MEMBERS OF THE QUARTZSITE COMMON COUNCIL AND TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT:
The Town of Quartzsite hereby declares an emergency due to flooding in accordance with Article 2, Section 2-2-4
Whereas, the Town experienced multiple road closures and flooding;
Whereas, the flooding caused many businesses to be closed;
Whereas, the flood and high winds were experienced during the height of our show season, causing destruction of businesses and evacuation of same;
Whereas, the wastewater treatment plant was taxed beyond its capacity due to infiltration of the manholes.
Therefore, I, Mayor Wes Huntley do make this official declaration of Emergency.
An emergency is hereby declared.
