    Volunteer Interest Statement

     

     Planning & Zoning Commission (Ord. No. 90-16)

    Composed of seven (7) members who shall be residents of the Town of Quartzsite.  Members are appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the Council.  All members serve without pay. Planning and Zoning Commission meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m.  at the Quartzsite Town Hall Council Chambers.

     

    It is the duty of the Commission to formulate, create and administer any lawful plan duly adopted by the governing body for the present and future growth of the Town of Quartzsite pertaining to the use of land and buildings for any purpose, together with all incidental activities usually associated therewith and commonly known as “Planning and Zoning”; to make or cause to be made a continuous study of the best present and future use to which land and building shall be put within the Town of Quartzsite and in cooperation with adjacent areas; to recommend to the governing body revisions in such plans which, in the opinion of the said Commission, are for the best interest of the citizens of the Town of Quartzsite; to promulgate rules of procedure and to supervise the enforcement of rules so promulgated by said Commission and approved the governing body.

    Board of Adjustment (Ord. No. 90-19)

    Composed of five (5) members who shall be residents of the Town of Quartzsite.  Members are appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the Council.  All members serve without pay.

     

    The Board shall meet when called for a hearing.

    Parks & Recreation (Res. No. 93-23, 03-09)

    Composed of five (5) members who shall be residents of the Town of Quartzsite.  Members are appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the Council.  All members serve without pay.  The Park Board meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at the Quartzsite Childrens Library.

     

    It is the duty of the Board to formulate, create and recommend to the Common Council any lawful plans duly adopted by the Board for the future growth of the Town of Quartzsite Town Park for the best interest of the citizens of the Town of Quartzsite.

    Library Board (Res. No. 94-02)

    Composed of seven (7) members who shall be residents of the Town of Quartzsite.  Members are appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the Council.  All members serve without pay.  Library Board meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m.  at the Quartzsite Library Meeting Room.

     

    It is the duty of the Board to formulate, create and recommend to the Common Council any lawful plans duly adopted by the Board for the future growth of the Town of Quartzsite pertaining to the Library purposes associated therewith; to make or cause to be made a continuous study of the best present and future use to which library facilities and resources should be set forth within the Town of Quartzsite and recommend to the Common Council revisions in such plans which, in the opinion of the said Board are for the best interest of the citizens of the Town of Quartzsite.
